The big showdown: Casey v Anthony

This is what it boils down to, the big battle, the showdown, the title fight, no holds barred. A winner will emerge, as will a shortlived career as the Australian Idol. Who will win? My tip is Anthony. Although I said Haley Jensen ages ago, that was just a joke. I wasn't serious. As if there is any stopping Anthony Calleas right now.

This seasons idol has been a very strange series. I just could not believe when Ricki Lee got kicked out. I would have like to have seen a Ricki-Lee versus Anthony showdown in the finals. BUt what does it matter anyway. As soon as the show finishes, a crappy album will be released within a week and a shortlived career (if Guy Sebastien's career is anything to go by). They get to build on their 15 minutes of fame and release a couple of hit singles. ANd then they will recede into the back of our memory within a year or two.

Prediction: Anthony by a landslide.

Fantasy NBA

How am I coming last or close to last in the Flavo's league? Ashby is coming last and he's not doing jack all. Whereas I am actually trying (!!!!!!!) and still not producing the goods. ALthough I shouldn't be jumping to any rash conclusions right now after a week, my team just ain't performing. Guys which I thought were solid have just been slow out of the block. And Donyell Marshall who I thought would be a fantasy beast has just been a bust. He can't get any gametime as they are playing Bosh at PF and Rose at SF. What's the deal with that?

If I were the raptors I'd insert Marshall into the lineup and take out Rose, cause he's so much better. The only rationale for Rose starting is that he's a better ball handler and helps spread the floor for VC and doesn't clog the key. BUt how can you ignore 18pts/10 boards/1.5 blocks/40% threes/1.5 threes/1 steal. These stats are off the top of my head, but still, you gotta go with Ludacris.

Also, the Bulls suck right now. Apparently "Management (Jerry Resindorf) builds championships" not Jordan. The bulls are just mediocre and are not going anywhere.

If I were the GM of the Bulls this is what I would do:

- Tell Eddy Curry to shape up or ship out. He is just really pissing me off with his "i've go potential but don't wanna try" attitude. I dont see how someone with that kind of talent and that size can average 4 rebounds. I could average 4 rebounds in the NBA (well maybe not, but I were that big........). I'm all for either getting rid of him or just resigning him to a small contract of $5 mill or so.

- Forget about Tyson Chandler right now. He has the makings of a great defensive player, but he's injured too much. He obviously has serious back problems. He's going to be in our long term plans.

- Have a permanent starting lineup with Kirk Hinrich/Luol Deng/Andre Nocioni. Go with Antonio Davis at Centre and someother chump at PF.

- Stop drafting these chump guards. We continually draft point guards but none of them seem to work out. Ben Gordon is the latest in the line of busts (except Hinrich). Jay Williams got injured, Jamal Crawford got traded. Now we have a steady floor general.

We need to start making some serious moves and get some second tier free agents and draft another big power forward, but NOT a high schooler. We need someone that is more ready to contribute. Right now, we need to attract a decent powerforward and a wingman. Forget the centre position, coz we are in the East. I reckon go for a guy with a winning attidude or someone with some serious skills but is in an unhappy sitiuation. We obviously cannot build through the draft, because that is what we have been trying to do for ages.

Go for some established veteran guys with skills like Peja Stojakovic, Ray Allen and then a bunch of decent second tier free agents that could be our reserves. We should also make a run at a centre like Primoz Brezerc becoz he's cheap right now.

We could have a starting line up of:
G - Kirk Hinrich
G - Luol Deng
F - Peja Stojaovic
F- Tyson Chandler
C- Primoz Brezerc

Bench: Nocioni/Gordon/Curry/Davis etc.....

You said it! As a fellow Bulls supporter I agree that Reinsdorf sucks as GM. Think about what the Bulls could've done after the fall of the MJ Dynasty - trade Pippen for someone better than Roy Rogers - Pip was easy Top 10 player material then.
Not trade Elton Brand, Brad Miller, Ron Artest, Jamal Crawford. Not trade for Jalen Rose and Antonio Davis.

Think about the line up they could have if they didn't trade away stupidly:
PG: Hinrich
SG: Crawford
SF: Artest
PF: Brand
C: Miller
With a good coach this is playoff material.

If the Bulls are to trade for any player in the league I suggest they should go for Shareef Abdul-Rahim. Why? Because he IS 20/10 material and sitting on the Portland bench.

Yes I fully agree. If we could have kept that team together and resigned all those guys, we would have been kick-ass. But the problem is, those guys (Artest, Miller) didn't become good until they got traded.

We would have won the NBA championship by now!>

Ron Ron is still a headcase, JC wil never be consisent, Deng is more a SF than a SG. Reinsdorf is the owner. Crumbs Krause was the GM. Since departing the bulls he was signed to scout for the yankees, but was fired within a year. MJ, Scottie and Phil made the bulls, and the organisation sux. You wanna see the best basketball orgainsation in the NBA, look no further than San Antonio. I defy anyone to argue that any team is better run from the office to the court. What other team could get top quality players to happily take significantly less money than they could get on the open market, over numerous years, just to keep the team together? Look at the lakers. Look at Minnesota now. Look at Steve Nash's departure from Dallas.
In conclusion, Spurs rule. All hail 2005 NBA champs.

the Spurs rigged a year so they could get 1st pick in the draft to get Duncan...

how many championships do the bulls have? how many do the spurs have? We are just going through a rut right now, a rather long one. we'll be back baby, 2005~~~

d-rob had a bad back and the spurs got lucky. I didn't see anyone put forth any evidence to refute my statements or support their own. I win (kinda like the spurs)

i'd take tyson chandler over david robinson any day :P. TD and The Admiral would have their hands full with Tyson Chandler, Eddy Curry and Antonio davis. LIke i said 2005, year of the bull.....although we haven't won any games yet!

I think D-Rob could come out of retirement right new and still outplay chandler and curry. My man was MVP of the league. Nether of your boys will ever be MVP of anything other than their own mind. The kids just ain't got the heart and will and drive and killer instinct it takes to be anything more that a disappointing waste of talent. Did I hear someone say Tim Thomas? At least the bulls don't seem as dumb as the bucks, who gave Thomas a fat contract in the hope he would step up to his potential. 3 or 4 years later, he's losing minutes to a 2nd round pick rookie.

we ain't dumb, we just happened to pay Eddie Robinson $10 Million, to STOP playing basketball for the bulls.

the bulls management aren't stupid, they just happened to blow up the most successful team ever, and have been rebuilding for the last 6 years.

BTW can you say Rasho Nestoervic? LOL.
