OZ

I watched this show the other day on SBS called OZ, and it's so good. It's set in a prison and the story revolves around prison life. There is a lot of acting talent here and its portrayal of prison is brutal and honest. I read a couple of reviews and I agree that the show is "gritty".

What is really cool is the weird cast of characters. You have black muslims, latino's, white KKK guys, homo's, drug dealers, italian mob, dude in a wheel chair who narrates parts of the story. AFter a couple of minutes of watching, it was immediately hooked. I just kept waiting for the next scene.

I think this must be the only TV show that is about prison life. What makes the show interesting is seeing how the different characters form alliances, who their enemies are and how they backstab each other. It's like survivor, prison style. It's mad just seeing how the characters interact with each other and with the prison guards.

Apparently, its in its 4 th season, has a DVD series and has won a host of emmy awards.

If you have nothing better to do on a monday night at 10pm, switch onto SBS for a mad show.
