Gerald Green has ups: The Next T-Mac?
Dwight Howard has only played 3 seasons but is easily the best young big man in the game. This guy can also get up.
Speaking of vertical, Josh Smith is the New Dunk King. I really think his future is bright - a true gazelle. Can run like the wind, jump outta the building and reach for the sky.
Man wasn't supposed to fly but Vince Carter could briefly.

Only 4 players on the all future team? They better be good because it's a 5 man game. You also don't have a PG. Who's gonna throw the alley oop pass? Basically your team stinks. No all around game, they can only jump. The only solid future all star is Howard. Vince is getting old and he wasted his talents with a poor work ethic.
Chris Paul is the pointguard but didn't have time to put him in it. Vince Carter is not a part of the all-future squad, i just like that pic!
and anon, have the balls to leave your name.
Haven't commented on your posts for a while so I'll do it all at once.
- Anon is right in one way at least - I was expecting you to mention five players when you said the All Futures team so whassup with only four? You would have been better off writing this when you are free if it means putting five players up.
But anon, I think Ho's team is just meant to be five (not four!) players that he likes, not necessarily one that will take the court at the same time. And hey, with small ball all the rage in NBA right now, you might be able to get away with having Josh Smith or VC at power forward some of the time. It's not like Josh Smith in particular can't rebound or block shots - he does both of those better than a lot of PFs, even if the blocks are mainly from the weak side. And what, Gerald Green/VC don't have range? Howard & Smith don't have high FG%? What's this can't shoot thing about? They're not as bad as you imagine, although there are better young players around I suppose.
By the way, if you're going to say his team stinks, you should at least think of another all futures team.
- If you've used it, what do you think of your Cavs ball? I think that kind of basketball, with their shiny material, flat out sucks for proper playing anywhere - thye're more for show than anything else. If you were a really serious baller, what happened to the proper leather ball for indoors and the composite leather basketball for outdoors? C'mon man, I haven't seen one of those balls near any proper men's comps ;)
- Not feeling the white-on-white jerseys at all - they're pretty ugly IMO and I like the proper jerseys a lot better. Manu jersey's a good pickup though.
Did you buy them at the clearout they're having on NBA jerseys at InSport? I don't like those jerseys that they sell in Australia but on the other hand, they do have stitched everything.
- Are you still playing these days, serious baller? How's your game going?
You used to sound like a dickhead with your blow by blow descriptions of your Blakehurst "battles" but they were still good for a laugh at least, as with some of your other posts, haha. Tim, back me up on this!
- Ben Wallace makes the Bulls a clear favourite for having the best D in the league but they still can't score, unless Deng and Nociono pick it up like they did in the playoffs. None of their big guys (except for Sweetney who doesn't look like he'll be playing that much with this lineup) can score. They overpaid for him but with it being a front-loaded contract, I guess it'll be worth it if they get a NBA championship out of it, and when he's declining, they will be hoping that Tyrus Thomas picks up the slack. Tyson Chandler's still a decent bet for the future though, so I'm not feeling the PJ Brown trade although fiancial considerations must have played a big part in that.
Still think at least the Spurs and the Mavs, and possibly the Heat (although perhaps not on paper), will be better than them this season.
- In a way, I hope Ben Wallace keeps on shooting FTs like he did in the playoffs so we can see 82 games' worth of Hack-a-Ben...
- Ho, the 1 July post makes yourself sound like a pimp, but we all know what you are like in real life - your rep precedes you everywhere ;)
- NBA's still great, but one gripe I have is that the games go for way too long with too many (called or compulsory) timeouts. I know it's the way the game has evolved but it's rather annoying. It's a great game still, and the greatest players of today can definitely go head to head against anyone from any other era and more than hold their own.
Aight, I've written (procrastinated) more than enough as well. Congrats on the pay rise - when are you becoming a senior analyst/manager?
woah what a comment and a half.
- all futures team: your right in the sense that i simply just put up a couple of young players that i liked. i just labelled them the all futures team and didn't have time to do the rest of it (since i'm supposed to be studying!).
If i had to name the all futures team, i'd still stick to my original lineup (Howard, Smith, Green) and add Chris Paul and Josh Childress or Charlie V.I guess i'm kinda focusing on the more recent players after the 2003 draft(lebron draft). Vince may have wasted some of his talent in the past, but in the last season and half he's been making amends. He's showing how good of a player he really can be and just dominating on the offensive end. Josh Smith can definently play some power forward, he's got the length and athleticism (think Shawn Marion).
- basketball: yes i got it at that insport clearance sale and i haven't found it that good. It's def more of a fan product and no, there weren't any leather balls around. I didnt like the jersey when i first looked at them but I actually quite like the white on white jerseys (things always look better when you try them on!).
- basketball: for a while (two months) i've been playing at sydney tech every sunday plus playing for work team. We're in the grand final at the moment, so looking to put in a MVP performance ala Dwayne Wade.
- bulls: still doubtful about the wallace trade but i think its a good aggressive move by the bulls. We needed an inside presence to complement our perimeter attack. Only problem is our new inside presence can't score! One of hte good things about the bulls is that we have plenty of scorers - Deng, Nocioni, Gordon, Hinrich. We don't have a guy that's going to get more than +20 points on a consistent basis, but we have plenty of players that can contribute.
DJ Ho.
